Judith LaManna Rivette and Dick Case

Creekside Books & Coffee is pleased to announce publisher and recent author of Solvay Stories III, Judith La Manna Rivette along with Dick Case: columnist for The Syracuse Post Standard and author of Up North, on Saturday December 2, 2007 at 3pm.

“Both Judith and Dick have close ties to the area and consequently, a strong following.  This is a great opportunity for many to hear more from our local authors,” says Erika Davis owner of Creekside Books and Coffee.

Judith La Manna Rivette –Attorney, publisher at Oh, How Upstate  as well as author of Solvay Stories III, a photo journal of the Village of Solvay dating from the late 1800’s through the present time.  Her newest book in the Solvay Stories series will take you down Milton Avenue, with images of Solvay Process and Solvay Paperboard, into taverns and stores, through the Village and its fire houses, to Westvale – old and new – and back again.  The photos create their own memories, and, as always, that special spirit and community of the Village of Solvay, New York.  Judith has also written: Solvay Stories, Solvay Stories II, Two Kids at the Fair, State Fair Stories and Chasing Hillary.  Sales of the Solvay Stories books continue to benefit Solvay Public Library.

Dick Case is a columnist for the Syracuse Post Standard.  He has written thousands of columns about the people and places of Upstate New York State over the last 40 years or more.  Up North looks to the landscape north of the Thruway, reflecting his columns about Northern New York including those on The Old Whittler, Grandpa Moses, Wolfe Island, The Grandmother Tree, the Lake Ontario dunes, a remote Adirondack cabin, and more.
Creekside Books & Coffee is located at 35 Fennell Street in Skaneateles.  The bookstore is the only retail store in the village selling new hardcover and paperback books as well as toys, gifts, greeting cards and other merchandise. The coffeehouse features the freshest roasted coffee in town, a light fare menu and a pleasant atmosphere to relax and enjoy.
