“Butternuts for Rexford”, book #1 of a series for children, was released on Dec10th, 2008. Central New York author Tom Adessa has taken a childhood memory of hand raising a squirrel that had fallen out of its nest and woven that passion for nature into a children’s book. Rexford a red squirrel is afraid of heights and with the help of some new found friends learns to conquer his fear. Not only will children learn about the power of friendships and how to deal with life’s many obstacles, but they will also gain knowledge of nature and be challenged by the dialogue in “Butternuts for Rexford.”

Readings and Signings: On January 17th, 2009 at 1:00pm Creekside Books and Coffee, 35 Fennel Street, Skaneateles will host a reading and book signing of this heartwarming tale. There will be free raffles for the children. Literacy Volunteers of Auburn will receive a portion of the book sales. A fun day for kids and adults alike. Books will be available for purchase.
