Skaneateles Labor Day Race Weekend organizers seek cooperation of Skaneateles residents and motorists to ensure the safety of racers and to minimize traffic disruptions on Saturday, Aug. 31 before 10 a.m. In support of the Skinnyman Triathlon, no parking will be permitted overnight from the evening of Friday, Aug. 30 through 10 a.m. Saturday, August 31 on West Genesee and East Genesee streets from West Lake Street to East Lake Road and along East Lake Road to the village line. Motorists can avoid delays on Saturday morning between 7:45 and 9:30 a.m. by avoiding East Genesee and West Genesee streets and East Lake Road in the village and West Lake Road/West Lake Street.

Law enforcement, volunteers and signs will warn motorists of approaching runners and bicyclists on Saturday morning and during races on Sunday afternoon. Spectators are welcome to join the fun. The Skaneateles Fire Department is looking for volunteers to help in the food booth during Field Days event in Austin Park Saturday, Aug. 31 and Sunday, Sept. 1. If you can give a two-hour block of time between noon and 8 p.m. either day, please contact Mary Sennett at 685-1202 or
